Allenhurst is a borough in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, named for resident Abner Allen and incorporated as a borough by an court case of the New Jersey Legislature upon April 26, 1897, from portions of Ocean Township. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough’s population was 496, reflecting a fade away of 222 (−30.9%) from the 718 counted in the 2000 census, which had in approach declined by 41 (−5.4%) from the 759 counted in the 1990 census.
Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the east and Deal Lake to the west, it is in close proximity to New York City and is a End on the NJ Transit North Jersey Coast Line. The borough is at the middle of a string of rich communities amongst Long Branch and Asbury Park in the space of many historic homes built during the late 19th and to come 20th centuries. Allenhurst “reflects the records of progress from a rural Place to a suburb and resort town of New York City. The proximity of Allenhurst to the rail stock was significant in the addition and popularity of Allenhurst, allowing residents of New York City easier permission to the community.”
