Cokato is a city in Wright County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 2,799 at the 2020 census.
Cokato was founded in 1869 bearing in mind the First Division of the St. Paul & Pacific Railroad was Elongated to that point. The city was named after a Siouan word meaning “amid”. Cokato was incorporated as a village in 1878.
