South Jacksonville is a village in Morgan County, Illinois, United States. The population was 3,331 at the 2010 census. It is share of the Jacksonville Micropolitan Statistical Area.
South Jacksonville is located at 39°42′34″N 90°13′47″W / 39.70944°N 90.22972°W (39.709570, -90.229679).
According to the 2010 census, South Jacksonville has a total area of 2.348 square miles (6.08 km), of which 2.29 square miles (5.93 km2) (or 97.53%) is house and 0.058 square miles (0.15 km) (or 2.47%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 3,475 people, 1,584 households, and 982 families residing in the village. The population density was 2,102.3 inhabitants per square mile (811.7/km2).
