Bassett is a census-designated place (CDP) in Henry County, Virginia, United States. The population was 1,100 at the 2010 census. It is allowance of the Martinsville Micropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded along a rail pedigree by the same family that well ahead started Bassett Furniture. Bassett Furniture’s headquarters have remained in Bassett since it began in 1902.
The John D. Bassett High School, Eltham Manor, and R.L. Stone House are listed upon the National Register of Historic Places.
