New Market is a town in Jefferson County, Tennessee, United States. It is allowance of the Morristown metropolitan area. The population was 1,334 at the 2010 census and 1,349 at the 2020 census.
On September 24, 1904, two passenger trains collided head-on close New Market, killing a large ordinary number of passengers. Different sources manage to pay for different values for the number of deaths, ranging from 54 to 113.
There are many historical buildings in New Market, including the New Market Presbyterian Church which was built in 1885. The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
New Market is the current house of the Highlander Research and Education Center.
