Gordoville is a village in Cape Giradeau County, Missouri, United States. The population was 625 at the 2020 census. It is allocation of the Cape Girardeau–Jackson, MO-IL Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Gordonville was named after Sam Gordon, who standard a watermill upon the similar site where the Gordonville Milling Company operated.
The land roughly present-day Gordonville was originally owned by Sam Gordon and his father, who lived in Indiana. Sam Gordon customary the first gathering in the town in either 1857 or 1858, and the town became known as Gordonville. The first church in the town was set occurring by Methodist missionaries upon the farm of Louis Siemers in 1848, with Liberty School house being established immediately later. Hubble Mill and Gordonville Roller Mills were conventional along Hubble Creek.
In the 1850s, German immigrants began to influence into the Place and established farms all but Gordonville. A German Methodist church and a German Lutheran church were as a consequence organized just south of Gordonville to foster the local German population.
