Summit is a town in Pike County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 1,705 at the 2010 census. It is allowance of the McComb, Mississippi Micropolitan Statistical Area.
The town originated as a railroad town and was named Summit because it was thought to be the highest point on the Illinois Central Railroad amongst New Orleans and Jackson, Tennessee, though available Brookhaven actually has that distinction. It was the birthplace of the “Summit Trio”, a society of three women artists in the 1960s.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total Place of 1.7 square miles (4.4 km), all land.
As of the 2020 United States Census, there were 1,505 people, 770 households, and 379 families residing in the town.
