Pinewood Estates is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Hardin County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,678 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Beaumont–Port Arthur Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Pinewood Estates is located in southern Hardin County at 30°9′16″N 94°19′14″W / 30.15444°N 94.32056°W (30.154468, -94.320469). Texas State Highway 105 forms the southern boundary of the community, leading east 9 miles (14 km) to the U.S. Route 69 freeway in northern Beaumont and west 5 miles (8 km) to Sour Lake.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 13.2 square miles (34.3 km), of which 0.066 square miles (0.17 km2), or 0.50%, are water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,633 people, 528 households, and 482 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 123.5 people per square mile (47.7/km2). There were 539 housing units at an average density of 40.8/sq mi (15.7/km). The racial makeup of the CDP was 97.43% White, 0.37% African American, 0.43% Native American, 0.37% Asian, 0.55% from other races, and 0.86% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.25% of the population.
