Lampasas ( lam-PASS-əs) is a city in Lampasas County, Texas, United States. Its population was 7,291 at the 2020 census. It is the seat of Lampasas County.

For his services in the Texas Revolution, John Burleson usual 1,280 acres (5.2 km) of house and received a permanent settlement in the 1850s.
