Encino ( en-SEE-noh) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Brooks County, Texas, United States. It is 18 miles (29 km) south of the county seat of Falfurrias. The population was 143 at the 2010 census. It is the site of a United States Border Patrol interior checkpoint.
Encino is located at 26°56′31″N 98°06′38″W / 26.941838°N 98.110663°W. The community is situated along U.S. Highway 281 (Future Interstate 69C), 18 miles (29 km) south of Falfurrias in southern Brooks County.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total Place of 6.7 square miles (17.3 km), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 177 people, 61 households, and 48 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 26.2 people per square mile (10.1/km2). There were 92 housing units at an average density of 13.6/sq mi (5.3/km). The racial makeup of the CDP was 82.49% White, 0.56% Native American, 15.25% from further races, and 1.69% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 94.92% of the population.
