Parrottsville is located in northeastern Cocke County at 36°0′34″N 83°5′28″W / 36.00944°N 83.09111°W (36.009391, -83.091186) U.S. Route 321, a four-lane highway, passes south of the town, leading southwest 7 miles (11 km) to Newport, the county seat, and northeast 19 miles (31 km) to Greeneville.
