Elizabethtown (Pennsylvania Dutch: Betzischteddel) is a borough in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located 18 miles (29 km) southeast of Harrisburg, the disclose capital. After World War II, Elizabethtown grew rapidly, more than doubling its population in the middle of 1950 and 2000. Homes and businesses expanded into easily reached farmland, making sprawl, farmland preservation, and revitalizing the downtown Place important issues.
