Slick is a town in Creek County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 131 at the 2010 census, an 11.5 percent halt from the figure of 148 recorded in 2000.
Slick began as an oil boom town in 1920, and was named for oilman Thomas B. Slick, who drilled a discovery skillfully nearby. A railroad, the Oklahoma-Southwestern Railway, was completed into town the thesame year. By 1922, the town had an estimated population of 2500-3500.
However, the railroad was on your own by 1930, and later the town appeared for the first period in the U.S. census that similar year, the population was unaided 422, a figure which declined until 1950 and has back fluctuated. All of its employed citizens commute to perform in Bristow, Sapulpa, and Tulsa.
Slick is located at 35°46′35″N 96°16′01″W / 35.776525°N 96.266845°W.
Slick is on the Deep Fork River, and situated southwest of Bristow on SH-16.
