Longtown is a census-designated place (CDP) and unincorporated community in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 2,397 at the 2000 census.
At the period of its founding, Longtown was located in Tobucksy County, Choctaw Nation, in the Indian Territory. Longtown Creek formed the boundary amongst Tobucksy and Gaines County.
Longtown is located at 35°13′47″N 95°31′13″W / 35.22972°N 95.52028°W (35.229636, -95.520191). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 36.1 square miles (93 km2), of which 26.5 square miles (69 km) is estate and 9.5 square miles (25 km2) (26.43%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 2,397 people, 1,101 households, and 778 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 90.4 people per square mile (34.9/km2). There were 3,059 housing units at an average density of 115.3/sq mi (44.5/km). The racial makeup of the CDP was 88.36% White, 0.13% African American, 7.76% Native American, 0.04% Asian, 0.17% from additional races, and 3.55% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.83% of the population.
