Evans Mills is a village in Jefferson County, New York, United States. The population was 621 at the 2010 census. The village is within the town of Le Ray and is northeast of Watertown. Evans Mills is the house of Evans Mills Speedway which was built in 1967.
The village was founded a propos 1802, but the mills were not erected until 1806. In the middle of the 19th century, the community was briefly called “Evansville”. It was named for Ethni Evans, a mill owner.
Evans Mills became an incorporated village in 1874. Its population was next about 500.
The LeRay Hotel was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
