Sanostee (Navajo: Tséʼałnáoztʼiʼí) is a census-designated place (CDP) in San Juan County, New Mexico, United States. The population was 429 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Farmington Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Sanostee is located at 36°25′59″N 108°52′25″W / 36.43306°N 108.87361°W / 36.43306; -108.87361 (36.433153, -108.873639).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.5 square miles (12 km), of which 4.5 square miles (12 km2) is land and 0.22% is water.

As of the census of 2000, there were 429 people, 107 households, and 94 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 95.4 people per square mile (36.8/km2). There were 156 housing units at an average density of 34.7 per square mile (13.4/km). The racial makeup of the CDP was 99.53% Native American, 0.23% White, 0.23% from extra races, Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.93% of the population.
