Plainview is a city in Pierce County, Nebraska, United States. It is allowance of the Norfolk, Nebraska Micropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,246 at the 2010 census.
The Place of Plainview was first established by William B. Chilvers roughly speaking 1871. A year well ahead in 1872, the first declare office was established. The township was named Roseville after the first Postmaster, Charles Rose. In 1874, after Christian Lerum made a suggestion, the Place and the make known office were renamed to Plainview. The town of Painveiw was incorporated and officially became Plainview Township in April of 1886.
