Hampton is a village in Hamilton County, in the welcome of Nebraska in the Midwestern United States. The population was 423 at the 2010 census.
In 1879, Joshua Cox founded Hampton and circulated a petition for the railroad to be built through the town.
On June 19, 1891, Cox and his brother James Cox became the first stockmen to boat cattle from the United States to Liverpool, England.
