Edgar Springs is located upon the Salem Plateau region of the Missouri Ozarks. The town is upon U.S. Route 63 at the southern edge of the Mark Twain National Forest. Rolla is nearly 18 miles to the north and Licking in Texas County is 13 miles to the south.
