Walloon Lake is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Charlevoix County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population of the CDP was 271 at the 2020 census. The community is located within Melrose Township.

As an unincorporated community, Walloon Lake has no legitimate autonomy of its own but does have its own proclaim office in the publicize of the 49796 ZIP Code.

John Jones, Jr. and his family first arranged in the Place as at the forefront as 1872 along the shores of Bear Lake (now known as Walloon Lake). Jones organized for the Grand Rapids and Indiana Railroad to construct through the Place in 1874. The community customary a train depot named Melrose, which was named after forward local surveyor Mel Rose. The township itself also adopted the post Melrose, but members of the community applied for a herald office named Bear Lake. However, there was already a Bear Lake pronounce office in Michigan. The community standard a name office under the state Tolcott on October 19, 1897 in the spread of Frank Jones serving as the first postmaster. It was respelled to Talcott upon March 4, 1899 and ultimately renamed Walloon Lake upon September 22, 1900.
