Napoleon is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Jackson County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population of the CDP was 1,258 at the 2010 census. It is located within Napoleon Township.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.64 square miles (6.84 km), of which 2.62 square miles (6.79 km2) is estate and 0.02 square miles (0.05 km) (0.76%) is water.
Napoleon is in southeastern Jackson County, in the eastern allowance of Napoleon Township. State highway M-50 passes through the center of town, leading northwest 10 miles (16 km) to Jackson, the county seat, and south 4 miles (6.4 km) to Brooklyn.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,254 people, 473 households, and 340 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 472.5 inhabitants per square mile (182.4/km2). There were 498 housing units at an average density of 187.7 per square mile (72.5/km). The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.89% White, 0.24% Black or African American, 0.24% Native American, 0.08% Asian, 1.12% from new races, and 1.44% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.15% of the population.
