St. Peter is a village in Fayette County, Illinois, United States. The population was 359 at the 2010 census.
St. Peter is located in southeastern Fayette County at 38°52′3″N 88°51′7″W / 38.86750°N 88.85194°W (38.867440, -88.851858). Illinois Route 185 passes through the village, leading northwest 17 miles (27 km) to Vandalia, the county seat, and southeast 6.5 miles (10.5 km) to Farina.
According to the 2010 census, St. Peter has a total area of 0.52 square miles (1.35 km), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 386 people, 156 households, and 111 families residing in the village. The population density was 721.4 inhabitants per square mile (278.5/km2). There were 166 housing units at an average density of 310.2 per square mile (119.8/km). The racial makeup of the village was 98.96% White, 0.26% Asian, and 0.78% from two or more races.
