Jerome is a city in and county chair of Jerome County, Idaho, United States. The population was 10,890 at the 2010 census, up from 7,780 in 2000. The city is the county seat of Jerome County, and is portion of the Twin Falls Micropolitan Statistical Area. It is the second largest city in Idaho’s Magic Valley region, second without help to Twin Falls which is located 10 miles (16 km) southeast. Jerome’s economy is largely agrarian, with dairy farming being one of the main revenue sources for the local economy.

At the 2010 census there were 10,890 people, 3,693 households, and 2,640 families booming in the city. The population density was 1,972.8 inhabitants per square mile (761.7/km). There were 3,985 housing units at an average density of 721.9 per square mile (278.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 78.3% White, 0.4% African American, 1.8% Native American, 0.4% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 16.7% from further races, and 2.2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 34.3%.

Of the 3,693 households 45.1% had kids under the age of 18 living as soon as them, 49.6% were married couples thriving together, 13.6% had a female householder considering no husband present, 8.3% had a male householder later no wife present, and 28.5% were non-families. 23.5% of households were one person and 10.6% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.92 and the average relations size was 3.44.

The median age was 28.9 years. 33% of residents were under the age of 18; 10.6% were amongst the ages of 18 and 24; 27.2% were from 25 to 44; 19.1% were from 45 to 64; and 10.2% were 65 or older. The gender makeup of the city was 50.4% male and 49.6% female.
