Shannon is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Floyd County, Georgia, United States. It is part of the Rome, Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,862 at the 2010 census.
The first harmony at Shannon, first called Ridge Valley, then Hermitage, was made in the 1830s.
Shannon is located in northeastern Floyd County along with Rome and Calhoun, just off Highway 53. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the Shannon CDP has a total area of 5.0 square miles (13.0 km), of which 5.0 square miles (12.9 km2) is house and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km), or 0.86%, is water.
As of the 2020 United States census, there were 1,919 people, 784 households, and 546 families residing in the CDP.
