Sorrento is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Lake County, Florida, United States. The population was 861 at the 2010 census, up from 765 at the 2000 census. It is ration of the Orlando–Kissimmee Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Sorrento is located in eastern Lake County at 28°48′28″N 81°33′49″W / 28.80778°N 81.56361°W (28.807872, -81.563571). It is bordered to the east by Mount Plymouth. Florida State Road 46 passes through Sorrento, leading west 5 miles (8 km) to Mount Dora and east 19 miles (31 km) to Sanford.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the Sorrento CDP has a total Place of 1.3 square miles (3.3 km), of which 0.02 square miles (0.05 km2), or 1.52%, are water. It is ration of the Wekiva River watershed.
As of the census of 2000, there were 765 people, 269 households, and 203 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 591.2 inhabitants per square mile (228.3/km2). There were 286 housing units at an average density of 221.0 per square mile (85.3/km). The racial makeup of the CDP was 89.54% White, 0.78% African American, 0.78% Native American, 6.80% from other races, and 2.09% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 17.39% of the population.
