Inverness Highlands South is located in eastern Citrus County at 28°47′58″N 82°19′50″W / 28.79944°N 82.33056°W (28.799492, -82.330549), along the southern connect of the city of Inverness, the county seat. The western edge of the CDP runs along the be adjacent to of Withlacoochee State Forest.
