Indian River Estates is a census-designated place (CDP) in St. Lucie County, Florida, United States. The population was 6,220 at the 2010 census. It is share of the Port St. Lucie Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Indian River Estates is located at 27°21′52″N 80°18′31″W / 27.36444°N 80.30861°W (27.364369, -80.308620).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.8 square miles (15 km), of which 5.5 square miles (14 km2) is home and 0.2 square miles (0.52 km) (3.65%) is water.
As of the census of 2010, there were 6,220 people, 2,347 households, and 1,743 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,046.2 inhabitants per square mile (403.9/km2). There were 2,494 housing units at an average density of 450.4 per square mile (173.9/km). The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.29% White, 2.31% African American, 0.19% Native American, 0.47% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 0.74% from other races, and 0.93% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.54% of the population.
