Wrightsville is a city in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. Its population was 1,542 at the 2020 census. It is share of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Conway Metropolitan Statistical Area. Located upon Highway 365, Wrightsville existed as an unincorporated community for beyond a century since it was incorporated late in the 20th century. Since 1981, it has been house to a major Arkansas Department of Corrections facility, which is the principal employer.
Wrightsville is located at 34°36′38″N 92°13′2″W / 34.61056°N 92.21722°W (34.610434, −92.217113). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.1 square miles (5.4 km2), of which 2.0 square miles (5.2 km) is estate and 0.49% is water.
The Arkansas Negro Boys’ Industrial School (1927-1968) was a youthful correctional capability for black male puberty in Arkansas. There were two locations in 1936, one in Jefferson County and one in Wrightsville 10 miles (16 km) southeast of Little Rock. A ember in 1959 at the children’s dormitory killed twenty-one victims.
As of the 2020 United States census, there were 1,542 people, 276 households, and 143 families residing in the city.
