Redfield is a small city in the Pine Bluff metropolitan area of northwestern Jefferson County in the U.S. state of Arkansas. The city is situated upon the Union Pacific Railway and is nearly 23 miles (37 km) south of Little Rock, the come clean capital. As of the 2020 census, Redfield has a population of 1,505.
Following the initiation of the Little Rock, Mississippi River and Texas Railway (L. R., M. R. & T. Ry.), a harmony grew up roughly speaking the new railroad depot (present-day Redfield Church of Christ) named for company president Jared E. Redfield of Essex, Connecticut. The municipality was incorporated by the Jefferson county court on October 18, 1898. Four properties have been other to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP): Dollarway Road (1974), West James Street Overpass (1995), Lone Star Baptist Church (2005), and Redfield School Historic District (2014).
To the Place now known as Redfield came Auguste Le noir de Serville, after serving bearing in mind the French in the American Revolutionary War and being angry at Yorktown. Killed by a falling tree in 1828, Serville was buried past honors, and his funeral was attended by embassy and military notables. The location of Serville’s grave is unknown.
Redfield is located at 34°26′42″N 92°10′58″W / 34.44500°N 92.18278°W (34.445119, -92.182870). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total Place of 3.148 square miles (8.15 km2), of which, 3.094 square miles (8.01 km) of it is home and 0.37% is water.
