Dover is a little town in Pope County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,378 at the 2010 census. Dover is located in the Arkansas River Valley, and is allowance of the Russellville Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Dover was either named by British aristocrats in the 1830s for Dover, Kent, England or by Stephen Rye in 1832 for Dover, Tennessee. Incorporated December 31, 1852, Dover was the county chair for Pope County from 1841 to 1887 in the publicize of the indigenous Pope County Courthouse on the square bounded by Camp, Market, Water and Elizabeth Streets.^{[citation needed]} Dover is a small town near Russellville; it has several churches, a grocery increase and a hardware store.

More than half of the businesses in the flyer part of town were directionless to fire on February 15, 1930, as were at least 8 homes on two city blocks. At least 11 businesses were purposeless or awfully damaged. A flame truck from next to Russellville helped in warfare the fire, but gone no municipal blaze water system, the truck had to fascination water from a large with ease at a Dover business. Fighting the blaze, thought to have originated as a grass fire, was hampered by the lack of a water supply and high winds. The buildings directionless were of wood frame construction.

On June 3, 1998 a Bible passй to 1283 was discovered on the grounds of a church in Dover and gained brief notoriety as the “Dover Bible,” with local religious leaders citing it as “irrefutable proof of Christ’s mission in the Americas.” The Dover Bible, however, was eventually found to be a hoax after undergoing breakdown by students at Arkansas Tech University in handy Russellville, who positive the copy to be loosely based on the King James Bible and inconsistent when thirteenth century language and composition.^{[citation needed]} Its current condition and whereabouts are unknown.
