El Segundo ( EL sə-GUN-doh, Spanish: [el seˈɣundo]; Spanish for ‘The Second’) is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. Located upon Santa Monica Bay, it was incorporated on January 18, 1917, and is share of the South Bay Cities Council of Governments. The population was 16,731 as of the 2020 census, a 0.5% increase from 16,654 in the 2010 census.
The El Segundo and Los Angeles coastal Place was first arranged by the Tongva (or Gabrieleños) Native American tribes thousands of years ago.
