Halfway is a census-designated place (CDP) in Washington County, Maryland, United States. The population was 11,896 at the 2020 census. It is named due to its location, which is halfway between Hagerstown and Williamsport. As a major suburb of Hagerstown, Halfway is share of the Hagerstown-Martinsburg, MD-WV, Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Halfway is located at 39°36′59″N 77°45′56″W / 39.61639°N 77.76556°W (39.616346, −77.765562).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.7 square miles (12 km), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 10,065 people, 4,275 households, and 2,851 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 2,147.6 inhabitants per square mile (829.2/km2).
