Burnsville is a town in Braxton County, West Virginia, United States, at the confluence of the Little Kanawha River and Saltlick Creek. The population was 401 at the 2020 census. Burnsville was incorporated in 1902 by the Circuit Court and named for Captain John Burns who operated the first sawmill in that section of the make a clean breast and who conventional the town hastily after the close of the American Civil War. It was named “All West Virginia City” in 1976.

Burnsville is located at 38°51′31″N 80°39′20″W / 38.858538°N 80.655439°W / 38.858538; -80.655439 (38.858538, -80.655439). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.09 square miles (2.82 km2), of which 1.06 square miles (2.75 km) is estate and 0.03 square miles (0.08 km2) is water.

As of the census of 2010, there were 510 people, 205 households, and 133 families living in the town. The population density was 481.1 inhabitants per square mile (185.8/km2). There were 253 housing units at an average density of 238.7 per square mile (92.2/km). The racial makeup of the town was 97.3% White, 1.2% Native American, 0.2% Pacific Islander, and 1.4% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.2% of the population.

There were 205 households, of which 32.2% had children under the age of 18 living once them, 42.9% were married couples vibrant together, 16.1% had a female householder later than no husband present, 5.9% had a male householder later than no wife present, and 35.1% were non-families. 28.3% of anything households were made in the works of individuals, and 14.6% had someone bustling alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.49 and the average family size was 2.98.
