Scio ( SY-oh) is a village in northern Harrison County, Ohio, United States. The population was 673 at the 2020 census.
Scio was originally called New Market, and below the latter name was platted in 1852.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.56 square miles (1.45 km), all land.
As of the census of 2010, there were 763 people, 324 households, and 194 families full of life in the village. The population density was 1,362.5 inhabitants per square mile (526.1/km2). There were 379 housing units at an average density of 676.8 per square mile (261.3/km). The racial makeup of the village was 98.3% White and 1.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.1% of the population.
