Malverne is a village in the Town of Hempstead in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 8,514 at the 2010 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.0 square mile (2.6 km), all land.
Malverne was originally decided by the Rockaway Indians at an unknown narrowing in history, with the current Ocean Avenue serving as an Indian path. Western settlements can be dated assist to the 1700s, when the Abrams, Bedell and Pearsall families first fixed and began cultivation the area.
Norwood, as it was originally known, formed a pursuit to become an incorporated village in the further on 1920s.
