Highwood is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Chouteau County, Montana, United States. The population was 176 at the 2010 census.
Highwood first had a name office in 1881, which closed and reopened a few period until 1886, since which it has remained way in continuously. The community took its broadcast from handy Highwood Creek.
The valley was popularized in the 1962 movie Shoot Out at enormous Sag, starring Walter Brennan.
Highwood is located in southwestern Chouteau County. It is in the valley of the northwest flowing Highwood Creek, a tributary of the Missouri River, and huge Sag Creek. It is 29 miles (47 km) east of Great Falls and just northwest of the Highwood Mountains.
