Westwood Lakes is located 13 miles (21 km) west of downtown Miami at 25°43′26″N 80°22′8″W / 25.72389°N 80.36889°W (25.723829, -80.368891). It is bordered to the north by Westchester, to the east by Olympia Heights, to the south by Sunset, and to the west by Kendale Lakes.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.8 square miles (4.7 km), of which 1.7 square miles (4.4 km2) are home and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km), or 8.14%, are water.
