Weeki Wachee Gardens is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hernando County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,146 at the 2010 census.
Weeki Wachee Gardens is located in western Hernando County at 28°32′1″N 82°37′29″W / 28.53361°N 82.62472°W (28.533569, -82.624784), along the Weeki Wachee River east of its mouth in the Gulf of Mexico. Shoal Line Boulevard is the main road through the community, leading northeast 1.5 miles (2.4 km) to Cortez Boulevard and south 4 miles (6 km) to Hernando Beach.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.4 square miles (3.6 km), of which 1.3 square miles (3.3 km2) are home and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km), or 9.60%, are water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,140 people, 556 households, and 361 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 822.6 inhabitants per square mile (317.6/km2). There were 888 housing units at an average density of 640.8 per square mile (247.4/km). The racial makeup of the CDP was 97.98% White, 0.18% African American, 0.79% Native American, 0.09% Asian, and 0.96% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.14% of the population.
