Waverly is a census-designated place (CDP) in east-central Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,927 at the 2000 census. It is ration of the Lakeland–Winter Haven Metropolitan Statistical Area.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total Place of 3.6 square miles (9.3 km), of which 3.5 square miles (9.1 km2) is estate and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km) (1.12%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,927 people, 864 households, and 603 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 543.8 inhabitants per square mile (210.0/km2). There were 1,178 housing units at an average density of 332.4 per square mile (128.3/km). The racial makeup of the CDP was 69.64% White, 25.53% African American, 0.16% Native American, 0.16% Asian, 0.26% Pacific Islander, 3.06% from additional races, and 1.19% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.51% of the population.
There were 864 households, out of which 15.3% had kids under the age of 18 living once them, 56.6% were married couples lively together, 10.2% had a female householder in the same way as no husband present, and 30.2% were non-families. 27.5% of whatever households were made taking place of individuals, and 18.5% had someone active alone who was 65 years of age or older.
