South Venice is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sarasota County, Florida, United States. The population was 13,949 at the 2010 census. It is allowance of the Bradenton–Sarasota–Venice Metropolitan Statistical Area.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.4 square miles (16.6 km), of which 6.0 square miles (15.6 km2) is land and 0.39 square miles (1.0 km), or 6.17%, is water.
South Venice is west of North Port, south of Venice, and north of Englewood. In 2014, a estate partnership as soon as Mattamy Homes was created to build the West Villages, a large community of subdivisions.
As of the census of 2000, there were 13,539 people, 5,823 households, and 4,081 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 2,179.2 inhabitants per square mile (841.4/km2).
