North Sarasota is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sarasota County, Florida, United States. The population was 6,982 at the 2010 census. It is allocation of the Bradenton–Sarasota–Venice Metropolitan Statistical Area.
North Sarasota is located at 27°22′1″N 82°30′46″W / 27.36694°N 82.51278°W (27.366855, -82.512903).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total Place of 3.8 square miles (9.8 km), of which 3.7 square miles (9.5 km2) is estate and 0.12 square miles (0.3 km), or 3.22%, is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 6,738 people, 2,770 households, and 1,792 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,781.2 inhabitants per square mile (687.7/km2). There were 3,209 housing units at an average density of 848.3 per square mile (327.5/km). The racial makeup of the CDP was 63.86% White, 30.74% African American, 0.27% Native American, 0.49% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 2.97% from supplementary races, and 1.65% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 8.77% of the population.
