Lockhart is a census-designated place in Orange County, Florida, United States. The population was 13,060 at the 2010 census. It is allocation of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community is named for David Lockhart (19 March 1864 – 26 August 1923).
Lockhart is located at 28°37′31″N 81°26′13″W / 28.62528°N 81.43694°W (28.625327, -81.436910).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 11.8 km (4.6 mi2), of which 11.3 km (4.4 mi2) is home and 0.5 km (0.2 mi2) (4.17%) is water.
At the 2000 census, there were 12,944 people, 4,642 households and 3,305 families energetic in the CDP. The population density was 1,143.6/km2 (2,963.6/mi). There were 4,952 housing units at an average density of 437.5/km2 (1,133.8/mi). The racial makeup of the CDP was 73.79% White, 16.08% African American, 0.58% Native American, 2.21% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 4.21% from extra races, and 3.09% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 16.09% of the population.
